      If we're going to start talking about unfair taxes, this is probably going to turn into a flame war pretty quickly.

          Haha.... If we're doing this, for the record: I never stated that my taxes were unfair. Only that paying them at the end of the year sucks.

                      that depends on which bracket you fall into. Low to middle, yes, because they spend most-all the money they make, so if you give them more money, they'll spend it and raise sales tax and generally keep the economy afloat.

                      people who buy less of their income on goods (by percent) contribute far more to the system via income tax (if not for deductions made for interest, private investment losses, charitable donations, and all of the other loopholes that keep them from paying up to their 36ish%).
