I know... I've thought about it a lot... I guess if there is no interest in it by the time I'm tired of looking at it I'll put it in my wifes motorless 87 cab

Why does it need a new headgasket? Overheat?

If anyone in the Seattle area wants it I have the VANOS timing tools, etc.

The customer claimed it's had never overheated but it produces a bit of water in the oil at every oil change.. Do you or anybody here know the inns and outs of an m54 into an e30?... I have yet to do the research... The electronics I can do easily it's the mix of oe parts I'm concerned about

Yep, I'm running one. It's bitchin'.

If the cam journals look good it probably didn't overheat.

Hey hoverin, how much extra work is it to do a m54 swap over a x50/x52 swap?

I have to do my damn valve retainers in the next couple of weeks along with the VANOS seals to solve a bit of the rattle on my S50. I might contact you about that :)

From my understanding it's not that it's much harder mechanically but the OBDII setup can be a bit daunting and costly. Probably less so now that it's been done a few times.
