Can't wait to see pictures.
Thanks everybody for coming! This was a great success, although - I'm shocked at how little we actually got done :p Huge thanks to Matt for letting us use the shop, this would've been a nightmare doing it at someone's house. Hopefully he'll let us come back and do it again!
Comparing Adams and Griot's products was very interesting. Big ups to Greg for bringing down all his detail gear.
Here's an overview of what we covered for those who couldn't make it/came late/took a 90 minute coffee break
1. WASH
-Foam gun, ~15 dwell time
-All Purpose Cleaner on tail pipe, trim, wheels, wheel arches, lights, front end
-Two bucket method w/grit guards, multiple wash pads/mitts
-Wash wheels, wheel wells
-Dried using waffle weave MF towel
2. CLAY
-Use detail spray (speed shine), "sanding" the panel/area
-Fold clay after lifting off the panel
-Wipe residue with MF towel
3. TAPE (You can tape before claying, up to you really)
-Tape everything you don't want to get polish on: trim, taillight surrounds, grille surrounds, window, sunroof trim, emblems, badges, etc.
-This is its own step because skimping here will make your car look terrible!
4. POLISH (Used Porter Cable 7424XP, 6" pads, 4" pads where necessary)
-Step 1: Adam's Swirl & Haze Remover. Started at speed 3 on PC , worked in on speed 5-6 until flashing over. Orange polish = orange pad. Stepped down to Severe Swirl Remover (green polish = green pad) only when absolutely necessary (abrasive!)
-Step 2: Adam's Fine Machine Polish. Speed 5 on PC until flashed over. White polish = white pad.
5. WAX
-Adam's Machine Super Wax (smells horrible) Grey wax = grey pad.
-Alternatively, we would have used Adam's Americana paste wax applied by hand if we had time
6. DRESS (We didn't get to this step at all)
-Adam's Brilliant Glaze applied with PC, red pad (can glaze before wax or after depending on desired effect)
-Remove tape :D
-Adam's VRT Dressing (vinyl, rubber, tire) on all gloss and matte trim, tires, grilles, etc
-Adams In-n-Out spray on all areas VRT can't reach, inside grille slats, etc (it's basically VRT in an aerosol can!)
-Undercarriage spray inside all four wheel wells
-Glass cleaner/sealant
7. INTERIOR (Didn't even touch this either... next time??)
All in all I had a ton of fun and hopefully we can do this again, before the Picnic maybe?Comment

Here are some of the pictures that were on the camera. *Warning, big post*
As I had said earlier, I've been super busy this week. Our Formula SAE race car for this competition season was officially unveiled to the public this past Thursday night, and for the four days or so leading up to the unveiling, I've only gotten about 2-3 hours of sleep each night and I still barely finished everything I had to do. I'm sorry that posting these pictures were not at the top of my priority list.
Btw, we had about 450 people come out to our unveiling, and another 50 or so people watching it live online. Yet from what I can tell, none of you that I invited bothered to show up. Thanks guys.1988 BMW 325iX - Lachssilber/Cardinal - Gone
