          Does anyone know if i have to remove those bigger aluminum tubes in front of the steering rack?

            If you're staying with the oem steering rack then you have to keep them. A lot of people swap it out for the e36 m3 steering rack or IIRC a z3 steering rack. It's a nice and easy upgrade and decently cheap if you can find one at the junk yards. And you can get the necessary spacers for the steering rack swap on e30tech.

            edit: didnt see that it was an m3 rack w/hardware

                It is a 95 m3 steering rack, and I have all the spacers :)

                Just looking at most of ppls steering racks I don't see those tubes, but I'm putting s50 in so maybe I should keep them and hope they clear the oilpan..
