#2 if it is my fault, and my insurance doesnt cover it they can sue me all they want. No offense they wont get a cent. They might be able to put a lean on my car at the most.

Unless you own a house get the least amount you can get. insurance benefits you not at all. Dont get in accidents.

Well, each locality will have a slightly different rate. It should be easy to get an accurate automobile insurance quote online. If you’re a member of the AARP, you can get a discount too.

Here's the situation- you can't compare your rates with anyone else's except for yourself. The only way to compare rates is to call around and get quotes (and if you want an accurate comparison, you need the quotes to be for the exact same coverage and deductibles). It's pointless to compare your rates with someone else because every single persons insurance is case by case specific. As someone has already mentioned, where you live plays a huge factor (every zip code has a specific rate). Your credit score will play a big factor as well. Combined with your driving history, your age, the type of car you have, the number of cars you have, the number of drivers you have in your household, and/or on your policy, your occupation (some occupations = a discount with certain companies), number of policies you have with the company (home plus auto discount, boat insurance, umbrella insurance...), etc. No two people or policies will ever have the same premium.

The best and only way to find out if you're paying a good amount is to do your homework. Call around and get some quotes, but make sure you're comparing the same thing. Also remember that some companies have one year policies, and some companies have six month policies.

And keep in mind that the sites that advertise giving you a quote with multiple companies aren't accurate. At all. The only way to get a quote with a company is to call or go online, or go to your local insurance agency that sells for multiple companies. But there is no magical site that you can enter your information once but get quotes from 5 different companies. It's just not possible, so don't believe the progressive commercial when it tells you they can compare your rate with 5 other companies.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. I'm an insurance agent

I worked for PEMCO for the last 5 years. I'm no longer with the company (still technically a licensed agent until later this year if that matters). :)

Do you have other insurance coverage (home, boat, motorcycle, etc) in order to get that rate?

Sorry for the late reaponse. You can't get a price without going through an entire quote, as I said in my peevious post. I also don't work there anymore, but if you'd like a quote, PM me and I'll give you the contact info of someone who can give you a quote with pemco.

Also, pemco doesn't sell the state minimum liability limits

                      I pay $60 a month for:

                      - 50/100/50
                      - Comp $500 ded
                      - Coll $500 ded

With 1 accident with none moving object, 2 claims pay out and 1 speeding ticket through Progressive.

Don't need anything else because I too work in the insurance industry but in claims.

Calling around to insurance companies is a waste of time. All you have to do is call an independent agent/broker. Find one that works with 20+ providers and have them run it. They can run against all the major insurance carriers at once and probably some that you've never heard of. This is the ONLY way to buy auto insurance. Oh also, don't go with Farmers or Allstate. You're going to be paying up the ass.. to fund their catchy TV ads. Get a quote from an independent agent.

Buying through a broker or agent is faster but cannot get the best price. They tend to me more. Go direct.

Tried AAA, quite inexpensive but they have terrible claims handling.

I hope I had the same rate with you. That's very affordable! Is your insurance for a car only or a bundle with house, etc. to get that rate?
