How do you barter with the idiots at pick n pull? They just type random shit in and say 50$ for bumper trim...

Im dreading getting a saab cam, head, or valve cover there because i expect like 500$ price tag.

Fuck junk yards in eastern Washington. One wanted $35 for a glove box latch, and another wanted $100 for a m tech I steering wheel and the leather looked like a shrunken head.

exactly, western Washington is worse, AAS doesnt even know the differenece between a mtech 1 and a sport steering wheel... which could work to my advantage if they didnt want 130$ for either in poor condition. pick n pull all the shit is broken.

You never complain about prices I offer. If you don't like it you say politely "No thanks that price doesn't work for me." I offer what I'm willing to pay the seller can always politely say no.

Yep. Just say no. If you aren't desperate to sell, say no!

About 5 years ago I picked up a rust free, 75k mile, 9/10 interior dodge Daytona for $50. Guy towed it from colombus Ohio to Indianapolis to meet up, I drove it home to Chicago. I drove it for 3 years and 60k, I replaced the fuel pump right after i got the car, and clutch at 110k along with the t-belt. Sold it for $650

I wonder if this is how hoarding starts..

All those people who are so worried about being lowballed or not getting top value for their "junk", so they decide to sit on it. 10 years later, their house collapses and kills 12 cats.

I've bought 3 bmw's in the last month. Thank god my apartment manager said no more cars. When I was a teenager I had 4 e30's,a Camaro and a 65 c10. I tend to hoard cars.

I'm starting to learn its best too put all your eggs in two baskets. It's way cheaper and you get nicer baskets.

Ever since they remodeled all their junkyards they won't take offers. Before I would just look at the register guy with a surprised face and ask if he could take few bucks off, and sure enough he would give me one or two parts for free. Can't do that anymore, I tried but they don't negotiate.

All the yards I've been to around here are like that too. However sometimes they can't find stuff in the computer... depends on who's working. One time I slipped the guy a $20 and got half my stuff "no charge."

Well said. I always like having nice baskets.

Don't get me wrong, I've lowballed a little bit too buying e30 parts. But there's a difference between getting a good deal for yourself and being an asshat. You should lowball pick n pulls/junkyards though, they are too desperate for $
