I'm well aware of Pacific raceways, though I'm not in tune with their schedule and norms. I've been out on PIR twice now and loved it. I get out to see Pro3 race when I can. I'm looking forward to pacific, and so is my room mate in fact. He's just going to bring something as far from the culture and performance of an E30 as is possible, a 2010 Mustang GT.

My car is nothing that draws attention, or should. It's dented, rusted, and "avg" on track days with a stock engine. But the underside is mostly rebuilt, so she handles better than she did from the factory.

If you ever head out to pacific for a track day, race, or karting and want some company, toss me a PM and I'll likely come on down.

One month later and I'm all settled in! Next time I move, I'll have check my proximity to the nearest Danish bakery. I can't fuckin live this close to one, its terrible.

Anyway, I have two questions, mostly for the northern folk. I'll ask here first before spamming the PNW thread.

      1. Where abouts in Ballard or surrounding area would I find the highest octane gas, and/or gas without ethanol? I run a Mark D chip designed for 95, and she was happy with the 93 no ethanol that I was feeding her. Now I'm hunting for something as close as possible and not finding anything. Doesn't matter if its a drive. I need an excuse to drive :)

      2. Wtf where do I find free (or paid) air around here? I don't own a compressor and rely on gas stations for air, but the last 5 I went to didn't have any. The only one I'm aware of is the shell on the south side of the Seattle center, but that's a bit of a drive. Ballarde30 or oldDrunkenSailer have any thoughts?

For high octane gas, I know that I've seen it before, but I actually have no idea.

Free air....I actually have no idea. I have an electric (tire) pump I can help you out with. Assuming I don't hear back tomorrow that you're a crazy, pm me and I'll either bring it your way or you can come over and fill at your leisure.

Thanks dude. I don't need it right now but I'm obsessive about my tire pressure ;-)

You didn't seem too scared of me at the e30 meet, so hopefully no one will think I'm crazy. No, I don't expect you to remember me, it's cool. I remember your car more than you if it makes you feel better :)

I've seen one gas station with a sign that said no ethanol, at the intersection of twenty fourth avenue and market street. I'm not sure if it's still there.

Haha, there have been a few times where I've been driving down the street and someone will have told me that they've seen the car but not me, I should sort of expect it, but it's always....a thing.

I should be able to hook you up with the pump though, it's super nifty.

The only stations I know of that have higher octane gas are all in Auburn, kinda near the track.

If you aren't finding air refill units at the gas stations you should just spend 10-15 bucks on a portable compressor that you can run off DC or your cigarette lighter.

TBH everyone should have one in every car.

That's a drive, but duly noted.

                    Ethanol Free Gas

Not sure about WA, but in Oregon they have paid air but if you ask the attendant they usually will let you have it for free

theres a 76 in Magnolia. Its not too far from where you are. They dont have ethanol in their gas. Go down 15th, cross the Ballard bridge. Take a right on Dravus head up the hill until you hit the stop sign (i think its 28th), go left, right again on McGraw, go down the hill. At the bottom you'll be in Magnolia Village and the 76 is on 33rd and McGraw.

edit: I work at the US Bank on 32nd & Mcgraw. If you are down during regular business hours, stop by. I might be there.

I hadn't run across anyone yet with paid or unpaid, but I also hadn't asked. It's usually pretty obvious though, at least at the palces I've used in the past. THanks for that link, it's amazing! It even shows the octane they are selling, so it's nice to see there are a few places selling 92, not just 91.

But I still appreciate the directions, even if I won't use them :-)
That one was is one of the few that is marked as selling 92, so I will probably be down there getting gas every so often. I may or may not drop into a US Bank without business and chat up the staff though :)
