this entire thread reeks of teenager trying to pull fast ones on a car that's not even worth $2K.

waste of court time, waste of resources and waste of everything.

    good luck in the scam

It would be easier to not to waste time on a car that appears to have been:
                1. Towed
                2. Unclaimed
                3. Legally sold

then again, I dont know the exact story so who knows.

But, it could be best to buy a new e30 since the one in question doesn't appear to be acquired illegally. Unless there is a strong case it may not be worth going after a car that, like Mr. Burns said, is no more than $2000, but I do love mine and would hate to lose it in a way like this.

I agree, this is why most of us who care for our vehicles go to get our car back as soon as we find it's towed. That, or are responsible enough that it doesn't get towed in the first place.

When I was younger I had my vehicle towed multiple times, always had it back within 6 hours. If you leave a car at a tow yard for more than a day, you must not care that much. Hell, if you can't pay the bill, just talking to them and keeping contact will keep your car from being sold.

Same for me. If he is going through the trouble of making a civil case of this, what happened with the period of time that the towing company had the car? If he didn't claim it back, or attempt to while they had it, it's theirs
