Ok, so..
Back on 10/20, I was driving down to Portland and got pulled over and issued a ticket for speeding in the Olympia area. When I came back up, I sent the ticket in within the 15 allowed days (like it said). I went to the post office on 11/2 and dropped the envelope with the ticket in it into the post office box at 4:17PM. I didn't hear anything back for quite some time. I have tried calling a couple different times, but could not get through because they close their phone lines at 3:30PM. I just tried calling last week and could not get through as it was past 3:30. First of all, what court house is only open until 3:30. Thurston County must be hurting pretty bad since they can only stay open until then due to "budget cuts". Anyways, fast forward a week.. My cousin was leaving the apartment today and then brought in an envelope from the state of Washington; specifically from the "Department of Licensing". I open it up to find a notice of upcoming suspension of my license. Funny thing is, the only way they would know the address they sent it to, was if they received the ticket I sent in to them; as this address is not listed in any of my things. So apparently, they received the ticket, but never sent me back a court date. I know they never sent anything back, because I checked the mail often and asked my cousin if there was anything in the mail for me; there never was. What is also funny, I apparently have been issued a Washington State license number, even though I have never had one.
Overall, this is just VERY frustrating, and I am curious if this has happened to anyone else??
PS- Washington should get on Oregon's level. Oregon issues you a pay by date and a court date right when you get the ticket; not this crazy shit of sending in the only proof you have within 15 days, and then you will find out.
