I did my homework, went to court and won my case (speeding on a motorcycle). Won on a technicality, - luckily the cop didn't spend too much time writing his report and missed some things. Otherwise I'd be writing a letter to a county prosecutor to replace my speeding ticket with a cellphone violation that doesn't get released to insurance companies in Washington. If that didn't work out I'd be asking for a deferral.

#1... never mitigate. Mitigate admits fault. Always contest.

I had the hearing yesterday, although I wasn't there. Just got the results:
"An attorney from our office attended your contested hearing and was able to negotiated with the prosecutor and amended your infraction ticket to an inattention ticket, which you were found "committed" of. This resolution isvery favorable because it will not affect your insurance. However, there is still a $124.00 fine, which you will have to pay.
The State's case against you in this matter was very strong, which is why we could not secure a dismissal.
Thank you for choosing our firm to handle your ticket! Please think of us
in the future for any infraction, criminal or personal injury matters. "
Sweet! I was stone-cold guilty.Comment

I will say that more lately I've heard of friends (and this is my first) getting some sort of a lesser fine. I'm not sure if the courts are changing and making deals for revenue or what - but overall it still works out alright.Originally posted by z31maniacI just hate everyone.

I used the law offices of Heidi Hunt.
Very cool to deal with and they get results. I recommend for Puget Sound area.
If they arrive at your hearing and the State has it's shit together, they'll ask to postpone the hearing and do it again. This is expensive for the State, they would rather agree to a plea of inattention. Also, a Trooper doesn't want to spend 2 hours in court for a 15-over ticket.Comment
