    1991 318is

As many of you know I picked up a 900$ 318is, and I am currently in the Debate of parting it, or keeping it.

Before you SCREAM save it you should look at what It really looks like.

Here is a video of the engines condition, When started it will not get itself going, cylinders start to fire but wont bring itself up to normal idle, if you start and give it a little throttle it will go but as soon as you let off the gas it will die, Its boiling/losing coolant somewhere and burning a little oil on start of the car.

    Here is the example:

Id agree the body is in ok shape if you ignore the rear fenders, right side was rolled by a moron, left side is in ok shape.

Interior is also ok, carpet and headliner are not that great but seats are pretty good.

Suspension is literally gone, in all likelyhood it needs no less then,
    -springs
    -shocks
    -tie rod ends
    -probably control arms
-wheel bearings on a couple wheels

    Here are the pictures:

        Sounds like a lawn mower.

I say part it if you dont put flares on it. Those arches are horrible.

My thoughts exactly, I'd be more inclined to keep it if the arches were not fucked over.

I am pretty sure about 75% of this forum started with a car similar to that. Bad wheel bearings, suspension, CAB, control arms. all standard on any e30 and not idling is pretty much standard on a M42 but hard to judge based on video. Sounds like it has an exhaust leak and a terrible vacuum leak

It's a twenty year old car bro. Suck it up and get to work. Or sell it to someone who will. Parting out that thing would be a damn shame.

Agreed, the rear arches are fcuked.

The car doesn't seem too bad though.

We shall see Mr Ian, It will be getting a once over inspection tonight by myself when I pull the interior to clean it up.

It has billies, but there is a 99% chance they are gone considering the cut coils.

24v's are easier to put in 318's get to work! It's really not a bad starting point

                        +1

318is is a great shell, abs discount check, airbag discount check.

This was a thought, just to put an M50 in, get a decent amount of suspension work done and go with it.

LOL Mr Ian eh? Mr ian was my father.... Anyway! Bilstein sports are valved for being lower, if he put bilstein HD's in than it will feel like it has 0 suspension.
