I used to have the production numbers, ill have to dig them up sometime. But there's actually a lot of 88Ix 2dr's. I believe over a thousand iirc. And just to confirm in US were all 2dr 5sp sport package, I never knew there were that many in Canada though.

Post some pics I love seeing other 88ix's, especially white it's like my cars twin haha.

If I was in the market for one, the first thing I would want to see in a thread are pictures. As the cliche goes, a picture is worth a thousand words.

Nonetheless, good luck with your sale.

Upload to Photobucket, Imageshack or Tinypic. There are a ton of picture hosts out there on the web.

All 1988 US cars are 5 speed coupes. All 1988 Canadian cars are 5 speed sedans.

And so does the rest of the people on this board. Spend a little time and think about your audience, man.

You are correct that the iX is one of the rarer models of the E30. BMW has never officially broken out region specific production numbers by year of the various models of the E30. Nando had someone who pulled data and compiled a pretty definitive list of all North American iXes from BMW software (all credit goes to them), and it goes:

          1988: 1715
          1989: 2797
          1990: 997
          1991: 857

          and

          2 door, automatic: 769
          2 door, manual: 2095
          4 door, automatic: 2131
          4 door, manual: 1351

This leaves 20 cars' transmissions unaccounted for. Even if you lump the rest of the cars as anything other than a 2 door manual, then you'll still be hard pressed to claim that 2 door manual iXes are rare as far as iXes are concerned.

You all, did you know that a 325ix went for $33k (more than E30 M3's back then)
Yes, and that is why BMW de-optioned all the subsequent years' iXes, to try and make them cheaper starting. They still sold poorly.

Heh, I know someone with an 88 iX that essentially is converted to RWD. I really don't give a shit.

Around 56 of the 1100 or so 2 door 325iX's came as manual and far less 4 doors were produced for America in 1988---something like a few hundred total 4doors of which the majority was there again automatic. The production numbers drop significantly each year till 1991 where a mere 3 total were bought to America and again, automatics out populated the 325ix.
          Link?

Those numbers sound way off. There are also numbers that says there are only 310 US 88 iXes, which also seem way off. See above.

Hard to believe. After all these years, I highly doubt that I have personally seen 10% of the entire 88 manual production in the Puget Sound area, let alone the numerous other 88 iXes on this forum in other states.
