I used to have the production numbers, ill have to dig them up sometime. But there's actually a lot of 88Ix 2dr's. I believe over a thousand iirc. And just to confirm in US were all 2dr 5sp sport package, I never knew there were that many in Canada though.
Post some pics I love seeing other 88ix's, especially white it's like my cars twin haha.

If I was in the market for one, the first thing I would want to see in a thread are pictures. As the cliche goes, a picture is worth a thousand words.
Nonetheless, good luck with your sale.

Originally posted by March25iX View PostMost 1988 iX were 4 doors and of the ones that were 2 doors, only so many came manual as autos were more abundant.

Originally posted by March25iX View PostI suppose the info I read was suggesting the number of North American 325ix's. that would therefore include Canada so... I ask all you who seem to know these cars better than I do... How many 1988 325ix cars were brought to the us. I can guarantee far less than any other model.
1988: 1715
1989: 2797
1990: 997
1991: 857
and
2 door, automatic: 769
2 door, manual: 2095
4 door, automatic: 2131
4 door, manual: 1351
This leaves 20 cars' transmissions unaccounted for. Even if you lump the rest of the cars as anything other than a 2 door manual, then you'll still be hard pressed to claim that 2 door manual iXes are rare as far as iXes are concerned.

You all, did you know that a 325ix went for $33k (more than E30 M3's back then)

Originally posted by March25iX View PostOkay so I found the reference on bimmerforums where someone got a response from BMW about 325ix production numbers for the US only. Around 56 of the 1100 or so 2 door 325iX's came as manual and far less 4 doors were produced for America in 1988---something like a few hundred total 4doors of which the majority was there again automatic. The production numbers drop significantly each year till 1991 where a mere 3 total were bought to America and again, automatics out populated the 325ix.
Those numbers sound way off. There are also numbers that says there are only 310 US 88 iXes, which also seem way off. See above.
Originally posted by March25iX View Postthough 1988 had the most 325ixs produced-- roughly 60 2 doors came with manual.1988 BMW 325iX - Lachssilber/Cardinal - Gone
2001 BMW M5 - Anthracite/Black Heritage
1999 Toyota 4Runner - White/Oak
