This maybe hard to watch, but this is when we found a buddies car. All we could do was scavenge whatever usable parts there were, and send it off to the junkyard. Sometimes it maybe better to not find it and try to forget about it, but always assume the worst, & hope for the best.

I just saw this thread and I can not explain how bad I feel for you.... If someone stole my rusty ass beat up stock big bumpered 2002 I would be in shambles let alone a sweet finished E30... Keep in mind that "What goes around comes around"

Did someone contact the seller of the wheels? Like show up with a crew and baseball bats. Get some answers. The scumbags are just going to steal another e30 again if they don't get some justice.

It was removed and there was no number

I was WISHING they were stupid enough to leave a number and actual address in the Craigslist post. Or at least be stupid enough to post pictures of the actual wheels.

This is the problem. These obviously aren't stupid run of the mill tweakers. They know what they're doing.

I'm sure they're keeping an eye on this thread too.

Yup, stupid tweakers wouldn't have taken the 5 lug and put a 4 lug back in place.

If they are keeping an eye on this thread, they are nervous as shit about the hood and trunk vin being from their car (or someone close to them). That is a fucking great idea. Fingerprints shmingerprints.

Yea - additionally, fingerprints don't usually mean shit. The state databases are barely connected, and they'd have to have a record already to even be in there (in most cases). I had a full set of prints pulled on a B&E that occurred in my house (I saw them dust, saw the print and the pull) and nothing ever came from it.

Unless they steal some shit from a company or get pegged for armed robbery, 95% of this shit goes completely untouched. Detectives are slammed busy and if it's not a high dollar/profile crime they basically don't give a shit.
