Here's the rule with e30 prices. Nice ones are going up everyday. Crappy ones are worth 500. And nice dd are 2500 to 4000. M3 are sometimes fast sellers and sometimes soft. They are a summer sellers. So right now e30 m3 prices are down.

According to Bimmer magazine, a 40,000 miles was sold (in auction) for $42,000. Good Isettas are trading for $40K plus. The market is currently indicating that the (great condition) classic BMW cars are raising in price.

As Mike Miller from Bimmer would say: the value of a used car (specially a classic car) is whatever the next buyer is willing to pay.

        R3v is notoriously cheap.
        Hell yah!

But it IS priced high for around here. I think the owner's fallen into the - "I put $12k into it, it's worth $12k trap".

        I'd say it's 50% high, too.

However, if there's one buyer, then it's priced perfectly.

I agree. Most owners don't distinguish between maintenance or wear item replacement and true "upgrades". Example resealing an engine is really wear replacement while replacing it with a Metric Mechanic engine is a true upgrade. I really cannot see paying more than 6-7k for a time capsule type of care, not simply a well sorted example. Obviously this approach changes if it is rare from a standpoint of M3/EVO etc ...

Shoot at the rate the cars are being wrecked, parted out..etc, the price is just increasing by leaps each year. It almost seems like I can't go a week without hearing or seeing someone wrecked their E30..
