    FS: 1991 Alpine 318i

Selling my E30, a 5 speed '91 318i sedan. It was originally a California car so I haven't found anything other than small surface rust spots, still have the service booklet stamped from BMW Long Beach. Title is clean. Came with a folder of receipts from previous owners. Currently sits on convertible suspension. The body has 200k+ miles (Odo doesn't work) and has a different m42 that was swapped in by a PO so I don't know the exact mileage. I've only put a couple thousand during my ownership. The PO of the motor had work done on it, including a rebuilt head, along with new gasket, head bolts, timing cover gasket, thermostat and housing replaced. An m20 radiator and expansion tank was installed by PO. Car also has a crack free dash ;D

During my ownership the following was done:
    • New starter
    • New alternator with bushings, belt and tensioner
    • New ignition coils and plugs
    • Replaced many of the cooling/intake hose
    • New genuine idle control valve
    • New temp sensor
    • New fuel pressure regulator and vacuum hose
    • New throttle cable
    • New throttle position sensor
    • New m44 timing chain tensioner
    • New valve cover gasket
    • New fan and fan clutch
    • New battery in Dec '13
    • New fuel and main relay
    • New center console
    • Swapped interior from tan comfort to black sport interior. Drivers seat is pretty torn, passengers is not bad and back seats in great shape.
    • New rear axles and new wheel bearings
    • New Powerflex bushings in the rear end done by Dyansport in December.
    • Newer pads and rotors in the front from cabrio and rebuilt rear calipers with new pads and rotors (also done at Dynasport)
    • Red46 front skid plate
    • iS front lip and iS sideskirts. Skirts still unpainted
    • Painted valve cover and intake
    • Ellipsoids headlights
    • New magnaflow exhaust and resonator
    • New Sachs clutch kit
    • Non-airbag steering wheel
    • Replaced passenger fender with dent free one. Still have original vin-matched fender to go with the car
    • New oil filter and fresh oil
    • Replaced whining differential with quieter 4.10 open
    • New oem foglights and gasket
    • Rear parcel shelf painted black and put in geniune premium speakers
    • Currently has basketweaves with hankook winter tires with one season of use

    Cons:
    • Currently the car has a little bit of a high idle (1000-1400rpms) and check engine light. Pulled the code and it came up the throttle position sensor. Issue started about a month ago and idled normally prior. TPS is a newer unit replaced 1-1.5 years ago
    • Has a dent in the passenger corner of the rear valence
    • Speedometer occasionally doesn't work
    • Has some dents in the hood
    • Front windshield has a crack down the middle
    • Clutch is still loud in neutral
    • Has typical m42 tick
    • One of the hoses is cracking at the end but not leaking
    • Slight oil leak from front of motor (profile gasket?)

The car is straight overall and the paint is decent. Always passed WA emissioins but is currently exempt due to 25 year rule. The car accelerates and drives fine and the motor pulls strong. Transmission shifts fine. Could also make a great swap candidate in the future for 24v guys.
    $2600 OBO

He might be interested in checking it out this weekend. Do you have any pics of the dents?

I know, I replaced the tps with a new one about a year ago, not sure why this one would be "faulty" already. Just don't have much time to tinker on the car at the moment or I would. Besides work I'm also helping some of my family sell their old galaxie 500.

FYI, if the TPS is new, it is likely just out of adjustment. Takes 10 minutes to adjust.
