A recommended radio person/business?

When turning the volume knob on my stock radio, it is incredibly filled with static. Does anyone know of a place or a person who would be able to open it up and clean whatever needs to be cleaned? I'd do it myself, but don't want to risk breaking anything..seeing how I just bought it.

Um I believe that's what my first post said. I don't want something thats out of its era. So, with that said..I'm still looking for someone with skillz to do it.

the issue is in the volume knob it self and is not something that is going to be "cleanable". the volume knob operates much like your dash light dimmer switch. there are rheostats (sp?) at the end of the volume knob, chances are it is going out. time for another factory deck. or step to the plate and get a stereo with a aux in for your precious ipod.

Well, I don't really take sarcasm very well when I get home from a shitty day at work. Crazy, I know. I'll cool down eventually.

And that's the thing. I don't want an upgraded head unit, even if I had the money. People just don't understand why I want to keep it stock. But that's good to know, with the rheostats. I'll probably try to get a new one (stock radio) if I can't figure out a way for this one.
