Its a good school. Super competitive, but its pretty good. Have lots of friends who go there, and all of them are happy there. Atleast its on the west side of the state, which isn't too bad, on most years, this year was odd, but most years it only snows once and not much.

The PNW is truely an amazing place, the mountains, the scenery (including e30s lolol) is remarkable.
The weather isn't as bad as people say it is. Although being from FL maybe it is.Comment

I fucking love UW. I didn't want to come here since I live VERY close to the school but it ended up being a great choice. It is competitive, but there are plenty of idiots here as well. But yeah, pretty much surrounded by smart people. Which I find to be quite nice.
Easy to get a hold of teachers for help. Easy to get outside help. Advising is easy to get a hold of. It's a well respected school, so the degree will mean something (hopefully). Business school is currently getting built as stated, I'm hoping to get in.
It's fun being in seattle, but at the same time the U-District is like it's own little city. They seem to have facilities, clubs, classes for most everything. I think it's like the 11th ranked public school or something. Don't quote me on that.
Anyhow, proud husky here! Fuck yes.Originally posted by z31maniacI just hate everyone.

After living there for 15 years I can honestly say california has been a nice break from the rain. Especially with the weather I've heard WA has been having this winter.. effffff that.Comment

Come up here. SU has a strong marketing program also, but is private so costs more ( although not that much more compared to Out-Of-State) UW is a well respected school and i dont see any reason not to go, if you think you'll like the area. I can't speak for there marketing program in particular, but i was considering it when looking around, and i'm a marketing major. So it should be respectable.Comment

As far as universities go, here's my 2-cents:
UW costs doughstacks, but it's a great school hands down. Very prestigious, and relatively affordable compared to universities of similar prestige. I'm currently in a graduate program in User-Centered Design (a subfield of Human-Computer Interaction). I've only had positive experiences with the faculty and the campus thus far. Highly recommend it! One issue you may have is how many of your credits actually transfer. That, and as of spring quarter they are not accepting any transfer students whatsoever due to the economy. Hopefully this changes soon. You also should consider that the cost of living in Seattle is higher than the other less metropolitan college towns in the area.
For example, you could apply to Western Washington University, up in Bellingham, WA. The cost of living is substantially lower not to mention the tuition costs. They also have a fairly reputable marketing program there. I got my BA and a Master's there, so have spent a lot of time and energy at that school and absolutely loved every minute of it. It's smaller, so it's easier to meet people since you see familiar faces more frequently. We've also got a killer E30 following up there.
My recommendation: definitely consider moving to the PNW...you will fall in love with it here. Apply to multiple schools in case you have difficulty being admitted into your top choices. Western and UW would be my top two state schools for Washington. Maybe consider Oregon as well.
Hope this helps.sigpic

UW is considered a public ivy. This means that it is a public school but provides an ivy level education. It is currently ranked the 16th best university in the world right now. It receives more government money for research (particularly medical) than any other school in the country. It is expensive, but still quite a bit less than a private school. You will not be disappointed with UW.Comment

I don't doubt it, but at this point, sitting on an Associates Degree doesn't do much.
Bear in mind I am not a U.S. Citizen, so I have to deal with out-of-state fees. (One reason why UW seems promising).
I've been researching CA as well, but out-of-state fees there are ridiculous for almost all good universities. It's almost like they want us to fund the mess their state is in :p
They've always been like that here, once they tried to raise tuition half way through the semester, after everyone had already contracted for a lower amount :hitler::hitler::hitler:
This place is like catholic school, 2/3 of the students smoke weed on a daily basis, but the faculty seems to convince the outside world that drugs are just in the other schools, the resident pot dealer thinks he's cool because he has the originality to call anyone he doesn't like a homosexual, and most of the little children follow him like sheep, then there's the few with brains, you hardly ever hear from them, perhaps don't even know they exist, but they get all the sh!t done.Comment
