Get to Tillamook whatever way you choose and enjoy some squeaky cheese and then once finished head north on Highway 101 until you can get on Highway 53. Drive that until you get on Highway 26 and then you can get back to Portland easy... Lots of fun with some good elevation changes.

I'm surprised no one in portland has mentioned the Old Historic Columbia River hwy aka crown point, it used to be a tricky road because of the pot holes and dips which made it exciting, but now it's repaved and a bit more civilized. Definately a drive worthing having a meet for.

So I found a great website that list roads that you would want to ride your motorcycle on... and if you are like me and like the added safety of a steel cage around you, they make for a great time in a car aswell.

                http://www.motorcycleroads.us/index.html

Just click on the Oregon or Washington section! I think I need to try this one! I just need to finsh my swap first!

I hate driving in Oregon, The speed limits are always so Whack, and I'm fucking paranoid of the cops. Still though, some great roads to take, I loved Hells Canyon.

that would be fun, there are some great roads on the WA side of the gorge too, like up the Wind and White Salmon rivers.

Yeah, the Historic Columbia River Hwy is a great drive - I just drove it on Wednesday - not a great road to drive very fast on though. Narrow, lotta blind corners, slow tourists (I had to downshift into 2nd to not lug my engine going down a hill behind a couple of blue hairs in a PT Cruiser).

Could meet at Crown Point, take a drive down the Historic Hwy, cross the river at Cascade Locks and then do the Wind River Rd. drive in Washington?

I second this motion: Early september meet/drive?

There is a park somewhere on that drive that has BBQs. We could do an actual picnic/waterless wash/photo shoot kind of thing, maybe even like play some frisbee or something.
