John, what are you looking to get for that powdercoated stuff? I just cleaned and painted my stuff, but if it ends up not lasting too long I might be in for a set. Just figured I had more important things to spend my money on at this point like paint and interior.
Speaking of which, any of you guys know someone who does good, reasonably priced paint work. I'm trying to talk myself out of going the Maaco route, but the price just seems really good. The car will be completely stripped so whoever paints won't have to worry about masking and so far I haven't seen many dings or dents that would need to be taken care of, and no rust either (but I haven't stripped it yet, so crossing my fingers). It will be a color change, from diamondschwarz to either polaris or sterling silver... or graphite. I thought I was settled on graphite, but those damn silver cars just keep tempting me..
On the interior side of things, same question.. you guys have anyone good and reasonable that you use? I have houndstooth, and would love to keep it.. .but it's a little rough, so I want to explore my options even if I don't do it right away. Including if someone carries similar houndstooth.Comment

Well, if you are willing to swap door panels with me (mine are all black perfect condition) Id be willing to sell you my heated black leather sport seats, (real leather not vinyll) switches and center console included- for less than it would cost you to re-finish them. Very nice seats. Unless you'd want to keep your panels and have black seats- which wouldnt look too bad.
I have recaros that im installing, so i really dont have a need for seats taking up space in my garage.-Jay

My painter can paint your car for very reasonable if it's just a spray, sprayed in a downdraft booth, and a finish you can count on lasting as long as your e30 has been alive (unlike Maaco). Gimme a call and we can look at your car and give an accurate estimate, but you are looking at 2-3x the Maaco spray-over-rust-and-dents.
Powdercoating depends heavily on the prep work needed. If it's blasted and doesn't need much masking, it's $60 for an item up to 17"x19"x30" until I get a bigger oven. I have a media blaster that can fit 24"x26"x48" and a solvent tank that will barely fit an m20 head, then you have paint removal if the item is painted :(Comment

Was just looking over old pics and came across turbo kit #2 of 7 (and counting :D)
Not bad for a flux welder, pipe bender and ebay parts with N/A headers haha...
EDIT:
WHOA! Found a pic of some of kit #1 using stock log manifolds haha :D
EDIT #2 don't know if pics are working, but I posted it :(
here's direct link...

J.Cash, how much you asking for the black sport seats? Hit me up on my email. ruffin.gary@yahoo.com. Thanks.Comment

Cash, thanks for the offer however I have a small issue known as BFG Syndrome (Big Fat Guy, 6'3" 300) which makes sport seats a bit of a challenge, lol. Also, I've got some Black Doorcards off my old es from when I gutted it that are in nice condition if I decide to go away from the houndstooth. I think there was a guy from Melbourne, FL selling some Houndstooth stuff in the FS section though if you want to check.
John,
Thanks for the info on the painter, I'd love to get you guys over to take a look at the car once I get it out of it's current location to where it's more accessible. I was planning on stripping it down and getting one of the guys from the nearby body shops to do the prep work on it and would just need someone to spray and finish it for me. Obviously it'll be more than a Maaco job, but I do believe in doing things right the first time and paint is definitely one of those things that I'm willing to spend the money on to get it done right. I'll shoot you a line in a week or two hopefully.Comment
