Trust me if you have an adjustable rear subframe on an e30 $150 is worth it to not have to deal with the headaches they cause. Plus i would assume they guarantee there work at least for a little while after the alignment.

hey guys would anyone be up for an organized r3v meet and/or rollout to any other car shows some time soon?

Ive talked to a couple of forum members on here and the sum of it all was plenty of members try to set up a meet but it never goes thru or not enough people are willing to participate. I myself have been bullshitting my e30 lately and it would be nice to get in contact with some e30 people just to bump up the motivation a bit.

If we can find out where everyone is located and get an approx. location of where it would be best for a meet spot me and a member or 2 could go up to that location and talk to the owner to make sure were not getting kicked of parking lots like honda teens.
We could also meet up before cars n coffee every month and roll out together n stuff.
As of now i only know 2 people that can make it ( and one is in the process of a 5 lug swap) im currently a member of the austin euro gruppe and the guys are real cool and all but its mostly newer vws and although we all have euros i dont feel like i fit in the same category as an 01 jetta.. or an 08 gti

I do understand that most of the members on here have full on lives (house, wife, kids) and just simply cant make it out but there has to be enough of us representing the austin e30 scene that would be able to participate.

Anyways if any of you guys have and ideas or input it would be greatly appreciated.

Take our silence as a hint...Im kidding Im sure we would all like to get something regular going. I think our biggest problem is no one really wants to take charge. Ill volunteer my house as a meeting spot if you guys dont mind driving to Georgetown.

Your place would be a pretty damn good spot. you have like a 15 car driveway and you also live within walking distance from me. & what do you mean by no one wants to take charge?
I could make an Austin R3v page on facebook or something. i feel like facebook would get alot more traffic than here.

What I mean there hasn't been anyone to try and set something up. Everytime we meet its more of a "hey guys this is happening and ill be there if anyone wants to come" but no one has tried to reach out to everyone and try to actually organize something. I'd be more than happy to try and do something at my place. Maybe like a once a month bbq/wrench day or something.

Well lets all figure out what would be a good time. I really only have Sundays open so my vote would be for the first or last sunday of the month.

Anyone have a "inspection" guy? The E34 failed HC emissions at idle by 100 ppm... I have new o2 sensors arriving tomorrow but I need a backup plan if this doesn't fix the problem. Everything else passed by a large margin.

Does it have a vane type afm like the e30s? If so there is an adjustment screw on the afm that should lean it out far enough to pass. Also how much was the car driven before you had it tested? I can inspect but I really cant do anything sketchy where I work.

Hell you could probably pull a vacuum line and lean it out just enough.

It has a MAF, I don't have plates or tags on it so driving it is asking for trouble so I can't put miles on it... I let it idle for 20 minutes then drove 5 minutes to the inspection station. Then waited 20-30 minutes.

I think you can get a 30 day temp tag from the tax office. But yeah im willing to bet if you got some highway miles on it before the inspection it would pass.

Once I get the sensors I'll drive across town and fill up, the vacuum line idea may work... haha. 100 ppm is so damn close.
