Do you still have the harmonic balancer thing on the driveshaft?

My e30's blower motor started grinding last week. I had a used one that I had previously installed new brushes and cleaned/lubed the bearings, so I installed it today. 6 hours later, it seized.

Now I feel like an idiot for having wasted money on a used motor and new brushes only to end up ordering a new motor anyway. I didn't want to spend $200 on a blower motor while I'm trying to wrap up an m30 swap, with Christmas shopping right around the corner. I'm definitely going to have to start selling of parts to recoup funds.

It needs a bit of tlc over the winter, so I think the break will be good for it.

Was just at my friends shop in Johnson City. Place is awesome. Enthusiast owned and he's just a cool guy anyway. Its the only local place with a dyno as well!

Oh nice! Will make the m30 swap a bit easier with the space.

Yeah. I'm not sure if I'm going to try and get it done first, or put the actual swap off until after the move.

I'm afraid of I move everything in its current condition I will lose too many important odds and ends.

I really would love to drive out for it, but I've got a busy weekend. I'm going to be moving at the end of the month, and I have a lot of loose ends to tie up. Sorry.

On the plus side, I'm going to be moving up from a cramped one car garage to a spacious two car garage. I'm very excited about that move.

Albany is probably as far as I would try to venture out for a meet. Syracuse and Rochester are far from me, upto 6 hours I believe. Thanks for the feedback though fellas. I found a few e46 m3 guys in Rockland area which is south of me. Hopefully we can find a few e30 guys too.
