yikes. you don't want to do it yourself? its gonna cost you more than the car will be worth if you pay someone to do it. i guess if you plan to keep the car it would be fine.

If your gonna pay for a swap dont do an m50 it makes same power as an m20 pretty much. Go with an s52 if your gonna pay for a shop to do it. Other wise do it your self. M50/m52/s50/s52 are the easier of the 24v swaps

I know but I got the full swap for a steal [emoji51]
My e30 needs a new motor and I got the complete swap with every major piece (motor, tranny, full exhaust, ecu, driveshaft etc)for $575 that's the only reason why I think it's worth it.
Totally understand.... but please understand that for a reputable shop to do this swap and work out the inevitable kinks as they arise... you are in for at least 5k-10k. This isn't even considering the sensible resealing (new gaskets, etc.) of your M50 engine. The cost of the donor drivetrain has very little to do with the overall cost in this case.
Labor isn't cheap and a lot of reputable shops don't want to touch a swap unless a healthy check is involved. Too much headache from penny-pinchers, etc. For them its a lose/lose situation.
Do not mean to sound harsh, but this is a reality you will need to face.
Option 1) Find space, buy tools, make time, DIY = $
Option 2) Have a shop rebuild what's already there = $$$
Option 3) Have a shop do the swap as you want = $$$$$
It would be cheaper to find a buddy with some shop space to rent and bribe them with beer and pizza to help out and learn from the process. Hell they may even loan the tools on a you break it you buy it basis
