So overall the trunk lock seemed to work except the return spring needed to be manually pushed back out. I had an idea of what I needed to do and with a lackluster game by the Warriors I figured I should do something on the side.

    Here it is removed:

    And here it is fixed:

Reinstalled and everything works well I can lock the trunk, And I can open the trunk so life is good and it’s onto the next thing

I try to keep it interesting since most of the posts aren’t very exciting...

Like this “update”... I was in NorCal for momma 2mAns birthday and while I was there I picked up this trim for my slow plastic bumper conversion.

            Thanks Big Perm!

I only got a few weird looks for my carry on

Yew!! Thanks for helping me clear some of the car shit out of my house. On my way to and from FL I was getting very concerned looks from every airport person who took my baggage. I had packed most of my tools in my checked bag lol. Sure enough, both there and back the bag got searched by TSA lol.

Cirrusly Blue - The Daily Driver E30

So the cars been squeaking a lot in the back so I bugged Ian (E30335i) and we knocked out the rear sway bushings and I’m glad we did... sadly it didn’t make a difference. I’m pretty sure it’s the exhaust now as that’s the only thing left and it didn’t look too pretty down there

More importantly, I am grateful that Ian has been a huge help with me. Highly recommended him to locals who need a hand getting work done and don’t have time or the budget to deal with shops. He came up with a really simple way to press those dog bones on

                    Dog bones looked terrible...

These bushings didn’t look as bad

And luckily they didn’t look terrible because the new ones were actually the 14mm ones not the 12mm so we ended up throwing these back in

It’s starting to get hot down here so I’m going to shift my attention to get that done.

I also painted the door handles with SEM trim paint. No pics of that... and I have a lot more gray plastics that need love so I’m looking at least one more bottle of the SEM stuff before I’m done

Chipping away at making this a great daily...

How do your subframe bushings and trailing arm bushings look? Mine were squeaky, and chewing the insides of my tires up. They don't make noise any more.

Never a problem to help out fellow rev’rs. Occasionally there’s fellow e30 people that literally stay at my place and watch me work all day while I do my thing. Always willing to help. Hooking people up for the rest of this month! Anytime Simon

They didn’t look horrible but I know I need to get to those too. I’m pretty sure it’s from the muffler but who knows, just have to keep at it.

Came out to my car after watching the Warriors stomp the Cavs and noticed someone parked next to me. I like the dirty old E30 more... I should probably wash it one of these days

What's the simple way to press them on? I just did this on mine and pressed them on by hand, which thoroughly sucked. I tried using some clamps and blocks of wood, but it would all just slip apart.
