    Z3M Shifter is a NO-GO! HELP!!

So, today I got my brand new guibo. As soon as I came close to lining it up with the tranny to check fitment, I realized that the Z3M shifter is too long.
It causes the UUC DSSR to rub against the guibo and come very close to the driveshaft. Has anyone body else heard or ran into this problem before?

I guess I'll have to ditch the Z3M shifter and get the 1.9 shifter is shorter from the ball to the selector rod hole.

Im not sure which Z4 everyone is using, but im using the shorter one:
http://public.fotki.com/pkortun/bmw-...-shifters.html -this picture is on a thread here somewhere, but im too lazy to find it.

I didn't want any rubbing issues on the guibo/driveshaft with the DSSR. I have a G250 with a DSSR for a G260. Love the feeling and layout, but it does sit very far down in the console.

Thats the one I have. The numbers on the shifter aren't very clear so I cant check on realoem. But looking at the pic you posted, seems pretty obvious that mine is the Z3M one.

That looks about right. While the short Z4 shifter will more than likely clear your set up. Wait for more people to chime in on your set up as the shorter Z4 may be a longer throw than youre looking for.

Or you can use an ERK to relocate the pivot higher.

Not really interested in the ERK. Would rather find the right shifter.

I have a shifter I'd be willing to trade for that one. I was told it was a Z3M but the distance between the ball and the connection to the selector rod is shorter, so it should clear it. It has a metal ball and is in good condition.

Edit: provided that that shifter will fit on a stock 318i
The first car I ever rode in was an e30

Id rather buy one knowing that it fits 100% then once I get that figured out, I can sell you mine , for a good price of course. Yah it's gonna fit a 318i. It was initially on my 318is when I got it.

Thanks man. Let me know if you're interested though, I'd be willing to go check my clearance for you. Ill get a pic in a sec, it really looks like it'll fit unless yours is really hitting it.

I had no idea that was even an option lol. Wouldn't that cause vibration in the driveline?
