Looking to buy 1984/85 318i coupe somewhere along the East Coast.

Hey all! Im looking for the ultimate base spec e30; 1984/85 318i coupe with the stock m10 and standard box. Diving boards, comfort seats, open diff, jetronic and all. My heart really calls for a white or blue slick-top with manual windows, but im open to whatever else might be available (after all, can't be too picky with these nowadays). I am located in NYC but can travel most anywhere along the east coast or even out west a bit for the right car.

    Let me know!

I always thought it would be rad to M44 swap a car with this spec

This would be fun but at that point maybe buy a 318iS? I prefer pre facelift styling though. I want the most econobox e30. Somewhere long down the line I do plan to slap a turbo on the m10 car I find.

84/85 are the lightest E30s, lots of minor changes and headaches but heres a few I found using autotempest in what I would call the east coast area...

        318, but automatic

        Modified 325e
Black 1984 BMW 325e powered by a 2.5l I6 M20 engine with a 5 speed Manual transmission (404-SAN). Gateway Classic Cars has 3708 Classics For Sale in our 20 Indoor Showrooms Nationwide.

        Another 325e but nice

Hey man thank you! ive scoured the internet as far as I could, and continue to check the major online sale websites every day. Seen all the listings you've already posted. Not interested in the 325's, although they are undeniably good cars. I posted here and a few other places to see what people might be hiding from public eye. Some people coincidentally have the car you're looking for and just sit on it. They don't think of going through the hassle of selling until they happen to run into someone who specifically mentions wanting to buy their car, so I thought id post up.

I know of a 1895 318i Black on Black automatic in the Chicagoland area. It has around 40k miles, and the current owner is looking to sell. I can reach out to him with your information. He is not very tech savvy.

Very much appreciate that but I think I am going to try and stay away from having to manual swap.

Are you on the R3V Facebook page? There is a black/blue 85 manual for sale in Cali currently. Budget? Are you looking for something for yourself to restore or one already done?

I dont think I am but ill make sure to join. so many e30 groups on facebook its hard to keep track. Ill see if I can find the misting and take a look. Id like a running car thats generally pretty together. A normally maintained survivor would be cool. im fully able to work on the car to most any capacity but im not looking to start with a major project. Of course, that might be hard to find or potentially even out of my budget. Im keeping my eyes open for anything though.

Interested in an 85 arctic blue sedan at all? It will be getting a full proper respray, and is rust free essentially aside from surface rusting on suspension components/bolts
