Trade me your E30 for my 97 Honda Prelude

I got my E30 for free from a family friend, an old Chinese woman with too much money. First owner with 98K on the clock. I had a choice between the E30 and a 1997 Honda Prelude coupe...I chose the E30.
A friend of mine, about a year ago, bought a 97 Honda Prelude. They're cool little cars, but I'm glad I made the choice I did! Good luck on the trade. Could you not sell it and use that money for an E30 if you absolutely couldn't trade straight up?

My brother use to have an SH and all I can say is boy do I miss driving that thing. Very nice all around package. His went for a good chunk of change in a short amount of time.Originally posted by StereoInstaller1Do you feel like something is trying to penetrate your butthole?Comment

Aren't the SH's the AWD model? I could be mistaken.
Personally, I wouldn't trade my E30 for a Honda, but that's just me. I respect Hondas but I wouldn't want one as my only car.
Good luck

The SH stands for "Super Handling." On the prelude that model came with "ATTS" (Active Torque Transfer System), an electronically controlled active differential.Originally posted by StereoInstaller1Do you feel like something is trying to penetrate your butthole?Comment

I used to have two civics and then an 00 integra gsr and i was never disappointed in any of them. I have alot of respect for the honda stuff, well almost any car for that matter. If it is someone's passion and it is well built (and tasteful) then it should get respect. I read hot rod magazine every month and haven't owned a domestic car since high school. So the nasty honda comments are pretty lame, especially on a nicer looking car.
So i guess bump and good luck on the sale, trade.Comment

I like Preludes, looks like a nice car. I have an 01 CLS & an 04 CR-V Honda/Acura make great cars.
I also have and have had BMWs they are also great cars (some not so great)
Why pollute a thread with uninformed nonesense?
Good luck on your trade.

Thanks everyone, I didnt get the hater comments either, completely unnecesary. I will either find someone who wants a newer car or I won't, no biggee. Its worth a solid 5k, if it sells before then I will have my pick at a well sorted E30 in the form that I want.Comment

Even though I have not ever even driven a Prelude, I have owned Hondas for years. My last Accord of three was just sacrificed to a buck over the Easter weekend so that I might have another e30 with the insurance settlement. My first problem with Hondas is with the exception of the s2000 all of them are front wheel drive. Start adding horsepower to any of them like most of us R3Vrs like to do to our cars and you start running into driveability issues. A stock Honda is a car to marvel at as far as driveability and reliability is concerned. You can abuse and neglect them for years and they won't breakdown. No BMW can touch a Honda in this department. Where Hondas fall down is the fact that they are the automotive equivilent of a refrigerator. They can get us from point A to point B but they don't have the passion of a even a stock e30.
My advice to you my friend is put your Prelude on Craigslist and then comeback and buy an e30. We would love to have you in our community.
This is probably not such a good comment for a noob with 18 comments to make. You are not telling any of us anything we haven't heard before. I don't believe this is true of e30 owners especially most of the ones on R3V. We get our hands dirty and the people you are talking about don't. I come from a working class background and the fact that I like to drive a tight, well handling car do not make me or anyone else on here a prick.

I hate to disagree but my CLS which is basically a fancy Accord came stock with 220hp/212tq at the wheels I have modded it to 260/245 and it handles/drives great.Even though I have not ever even driven a Prelude, I have owned Hondas for years. Stock it was fun to drive now it is a serious hoot!
Of course I have put over 6k into it but even if I had left it alone it was a very satisfying car in every respect.
It is light years more comfortable for long distances than my 90 IC (which I loved)

Honestly, to the average car buyer, I think a Prelude would be much easier to sell then an E30, given the Prelude is newer, has a very updated look. Do Auto Trader if you haven't already. I've always pictured a Prelude as the perfect car for my gf lol, that or a E30 vert.Comment

I know what a CL is. I use to work for a used car dealer and I have driven CLs before. They are very nice cars and I like them. I don't disagree with you about the fact that they are nice. Now add another 150hp to your 260hp number and see where you are as far as how the car drives. Sure a CL's engine can easily be built to to this power level with turbos and the engine itself will be docile but then try to launch it. A 400hp rear wheel drive car is much easier to set up and can better handle the power because you are not turning your drive wheels. At those levels most if not all fwd cars will be torque steering and breaking axles. Also when a rwd car is launched the physics do not work against you maintaining traction like they do in fwd. This is the reason fwd cars have to have pneumatic launch bars on the rear to hold the front of the car down. It takes a lot more hp for any rwd car to lift the front end off the ground and in the end if the tail is not scraping the ground traction and weight transfer are aided by the front end lifting to a certain extent at lower speeds.
