I've seen this car in real life, and all of you are spot on. It just doesn't look right. Don't get me wrong, E30 M3's aren't exactly common here, but it was still pretty lame to see an actual E30 M3 and have it be in such odd condition.

It's nice to see someone selling older cars though. When I went there, they had 3 older Bimmers, an old Alfa, and some British roadsters in the back. Certainly a deviation from the usual "Nothing pre-1990" rule.

What the ____ is going on with the door Vin panel thou scares me.

Anybody now the history of this car?
LOL this picture says it all right here. First of all, that is a plate with the VIN sticker on it. Someone cut it out and riveted it onto the body. It's just supposed to be a sticker on the body...no rivets. Euro cars had rivets but that is clearly a US spec VIN sticker. Just looking at that pic will tell you all you need to know.

                    Fender doesn't line up.
                    Bumper doesn't line up.
                    Trunk lid doesn't line up.
                    Bit of rust [most likely]
                    Resprayed.
                    Under-dash cover falling off.

I'd give him $7k..maybe. Then I'd tare it apart. ;)
