My car had a 34, only because it failed an emissions test in the 90's and was corrected the next day lol. 3rd owner.

Grats on the sale, nice car.

As many said, this was a long overdue sale. I'm glad you were able to get close to your asking price via eBay, that's awesome.

I was wondering, can you shed some light on the sale? How smooth of a transaction was it? Did the buyer even come out to California and check it out in person? Given your add was very descriptive covering all the bases, and high resolution photo's definitely helped, I personally couldn't justify spending 10k blindly when plane tickets are relatively cheap. Also how did the payment go? With all the scams going around, I'd be a little weary accepting anything but a bank transfer, or accepting the cash in hand.

Any info would be much appreciated.

The seller's reputation and long history in the BMW / E30 community must have raised the buyer's comfort level and mitigated risk associated with a sight-unseen purchase.

It was extremely smooth, it was quite refreshing to deal with somebody that had a head on their shoulders. The amount of tire kickers and idiots that contacted me about the car was staggering. So many people telling ME what it was worth, even had an offer of $2500. Some people live pathetic lives.

The buyer and I chatted back and forth through email a few times, chatted on the phone once, and the deal was done. He clicked the "buy it now" button on eBay and immediately sent the deposit. The following Monday (once the bank was open) he sent the funds directly through a bank transfer which cleared my account the next day. I then sent the signed title to him through USPS Express Mail overnight. He had already gotten a quote from Intercity Lines and had them at my place on Wednesday morning!

I have an excellent rating on eBay and have been a member for almost 11 years. He also found my for sale thread on BimmerForums where he could see my excellent almost 9 year rep. I have referred him here to R3V but not sure if he's taken the time to join yet. Hoping to see the car around the forums though!
