My car already had the euro bits, so I got really lucky. I'd buy the primed bumpers new from BMW and gave them painted body color if I was in your position. It matches the shadow line belt line trim nicely

I'll check with my local dealer about the availability of the E28 euro bumpers. I wonder if these can be used with the front US lower valance (for the time being until I can locate a Euro piece). If so, then I can check with VSR about the cost to paint & install them on the car.

Thanks man!
The euro front valence is pretty cheap and easy to install, it's the rear panel that is a bear to deal with. They are quite different between the front and rear. You have to either weld the holes the us bumpers leave, or remove the rear firewall and replace it with the euro panel. The us rear panel is shaped a bit differently, so replacement is the more correct option.

VSR has an excellent reputation, Their race prep season is well under way so this might be lower on their priority list.
There are a couple of Shops in the DC area that might have a good 265 Getrag.Comment

I'd agree with VSR's reputation, one of the best in the business. I'm not sure if I'd follow what the purists have to say on mye28 about not swapping the G280. Fact is, the G265 is just as strong, there are WAY more available, and the lack of ability to repair the G280 makes the good used ones command huge prices. Pick up a G265 for $350, stick the G280 in the trunk and drive it back to your house. Someday there will be a way to rebuild the G280 when the E34 M5 market starts to upswing and guys are restoring good ones.Comment
