FS: 9/88 325IX diamant schwarz A/T (w/5 spd swap)

A buddy of mine is selling his 325ix auto productiion date 9/88. He has no time to work on it and get the manual swap done.
The car runs, but the auto trans no longer shifts. The AWD system worked before the trans went out. Included with the car is the 5 spd IX swap, that is also off an 88 with 144k. The AW drive set up worked on that car as well.

The car has some rust in the usual spots (under the battery tray, rear valance, rear driver side quarter panel needs work). Rear bumper is kapput. Also clear coat is peeling in various places.
Interior: Seats are in ok condition. Headliner will need to be replace (one is included).

This is more of a parts car, but has potential. Will need to be towed.

You sure that's an 88, I think September of 88 would be consider a 89. Also 88's are all 2 door, 5spd, sport package, and metal bumpers. Not to thread crap or anything I just wanted to clear things up.

If the label states the date of 09/88 then the OP has to state the correct year in the post; otherwise, it is a misleading information.

Thanks for pointing that out. I went off the info provided to me. The Vin is included, if anyone can confirm it's an 89 that be great.

Hmmm. I'm relocating to Indiana in February and would consider picking it up once I'm out there. If he needs the space I'm assuming you wouldn't hold it.

As of right now it's still available. The engine runs strong. I was going to do a compression test on it, but weather has not been friendly. Suspension seems to be stock and in good shape. Other then that I don't have any more info on it.
He was using the car as a dd, until the auto trans gave out. He purchase a totaled IX for the 5 speed swap, but did not get a chance to get the swap done, and does not have time to.
