          GLWS! I always secretly wanted an ix, but too far and already have other projects on the burner.

          It sounds like you probably just need to rebuild the head, not an entirely new engine. I have repaired several m20's that had broken timing belts - just clean up any sharp edges from valve contact on the pistons. Only one time was I not able to repair after a broken belt, and that was on an eta. One of the valve heads broke off and was lodged into the piston.

          Hard to believe that was already 6yr ago...

                Damn, that was a good deal for what looks to be a pretty straight IX shell. An M20 rebuild isn't that expensive.. hope the buyer does something cool with it!
