I'm very happy with my purchase!

First off, communication with the seller was excellent. He answered emails, PM's and forum posts promptly. I never had to guess where I was in the process.

I ordered my cup holder on July 3 and it arrived at my door on July 5, very nicely packed. Two day shipping with a national holiday in between. WTH? In your face Amazon!

The cup holder arrived undamaged, with a very nice powder coat finish that matches the interior beautifully.

It took longer to pull my screwdriver from the trunk toolkit than it did to actually install the cup holder.

As an architect I appreciate the simple elegance of the design. It looks great in the car, like OEM great and holds a properly-sized bottle or container securely with no interference at the dash, shifter, console or passenger seat.

The only issue some may have is that the cup holder might not take the most giant of convenience store soda cups. Your 64 oz Mountain Dew may not fit. OTOH there are plenty of reasonably sized coffee mugs etc available that will fit great. For me and my needs it's a perfect fit.

So if your on the fence on this one get off the fence and go ahead and place your order. It's worth paying a bit of a premium to support a r3vlimited contributor who designed a very nice product. Great seller, great designer, great communication.

      Thanks!

Would it interfere with the driver's leg to have it on the driver's side? I'm wondering about one that held two cups, one on each side.

Either way, I'll have my eyes open for the next batch. I really like how minimal this design is.

At the moment I don't have an e30 "/ I'm saving up for one.

Once I get an e30 I'll play with having two see if it interferes with the driver.

a few questions before the next round get snatched up:

                        1) anyone have pictures with the shifter in 5th gear?
                        2) what is the inner diameter of the circle?
                        3) would it be feasible to make the arm perpendicular to the HVAC panel shorter so that there is less of a moment on the arm? Basically to have the cup closer to the HVAC panel. (i worry about the forces those baby screws have to overcome to hold a steel mug full of coffee on shitty roads with H&R Race springs)

I will try to get one of my buddies with an e30 to take a picture in 5th gear .. does not get in the way of it.

                          2) what is the inner diameter of the circle?

The inner diameter is around 3"

The length of the cup holder is perfect in my opinion. . If it were to be moved closer to the hvac it would hit tall passenger's knees. I am modifying this next batch with a small rubber foot like that will touch the council and add support for heavier drinks.

e30 wire cup holder SOLD OUT!!!

I will say that with my car in fifth gear, I have to be conscious to not stub my pinky on the cupholder. Small price to pay for finally keeping hydrated in my vert. The shifter itself does not hit it though.

I highly recommend using slightly longer screws when installing. Those ashtray screws are pretty darn short.

Really like this holder so far, but haven't attempted a large coffee travel mug yet. Will you be offering the rubber foot piece to those of us who already purchased? Is it something I could buy at my local hardware store?
