Time to revive this thread in hopes to get some help with installation. I odered this piece from ebay a little while ago and finally got around to install it. To my disappointment, there was no way I could fit my hannd behind the bumper to secure the filler with the hardware provided. There is a piece of metal that runs all across the bumper on the back side making it impossible to fit any human hand (Reinforcement plate? 51111936526). I initially thought this had to do with the fact that my bumper is tucked in. I then looked at a friend's e30 with an unmodified bumper and it was the same way. Can anyone provide some installation tips? Will I need to remove the bumper completely in order to get this installed?

The bumper is super easy to take off, just a couple of 13mm nuts. Depending on how your bumpers are tucked, you might actually be able to pull them out to their normal positions, which makes it easier to access.

        Hey bellerto,

Hopefully you figured this out by now...not sure if you and I chatted about this via eBay messaging. I would say that out of the approx 200 units sold, about 10 of them have had the metal piece you are speaking of and requires you to remove the bumper for the install. I haven't been able to determine what production years/manufacture dates had this bar - but the overwhelming majority do not.

Great product. I forgot to tell my girlfriend to order through you here. She purchased it off of eBay. I too have the bar behind my bumper so I will have to postpone the install for now. I'm not sure too, but mine seems to be about 1/2 inch too long? it bunches up a lot. don't know if they were all cut that way and if I have to manipulate it or if its a miscut?
