Hey Guys,
New to the forum but hoping to be here for some time, I also posted this on S14.net so I will share the link at the bottom of this post for reference.
I have 2 genuine S14 engines for sale along with their matching transmissions. Just to give you some insight and info as to how I came to own these 2, I recently imported a US spec Diamanschwararz/Grey M3 from the Middle East (which is for sale and I will be posting some info of it on the Cars for sale thread shortly), and with the deal, I managed to acquire the engines as well as a few parts. I have just some info on them from what I was told (unfortunately nothing to back up the info aside from trusting the seller as I have known him for some time), the engines were each at about 80,000miles when pulled and were kept with the intention of putting into a 2002 which the previous owner had, and the other as a backup for the M3 that I bought. The previous owner is a BMW collector, although not as diligent as most U.S owners are, and the engines were not stored as ideally as they should have been. They were however, kept inside at the least. This is just about all of the info that I have on them, and my limited knowledge of these things doesn't allow me to speak much more to them, so I will let some of the pictures and the compression numbers (not great) that I got do the talking. I will try and get more detailed pictures for anyone that is interested in either or both of these, and would be happy to show these to anyone in person (or via Skype if they are not local). The engines are located in Long Island NY:
The First Engine (US Spec):
Vehicle Identification Number: WBSAK0319MAE34321
Type: AK03
Model: M3 - USA
Development Code: E30
Chassis: LIM
Steering: LL
Doors: 2
Engine: S14
Displacement: 2.30
Power: 162
Drivetrain: HECK
Transmission: MECH
Color: Diamantschwarz Metallic - 181
Upholstery: Natur Leder - 0295
Production Plant: MUNICH
Production Date: 1990-07-20
Leakdown % Compression (Psi)
1 80 75
3 55 95
4 32 143
2 16 155
I think this one will have to come apart and have the valves checked. Also the nose (highest point) on most of the camshaft lobes are heavily pitted
The Second Engine (Euro Spec):
Vehicle Identification Number: WBSAK010000842259
Type: AK01
Model: M3 - EUR
Development Code: E30
Chassis: LIM
Steering: LL
Doors: 2
Engine: S14
Displacement: 2.30
Power: 162
Drivetrain: HECK
Transmission: MECH
Color: Diamantschwarz Metallic - 181
Upholstery - Schwarz Leder - 0203
Production Date: 1986-10-08
Leakdown % Compression (Psi)
1 54 95
3 40 125
4 28 125
2 55 135
The two transmissions I have are the original transmissions that came with each engine. They both do go into all gears and seem to function. At least as much could be felt without being in the car. The USA model has a over drive 5th. gear. The Euro Spec is a "dogleg" Euro gear box.
I also have the headers, Airboxes, 1 Wire harnesses that I would include with the sale.
I have 2 Airboxes.
I have Headers for each engine
I have 1 wire harness that is in need of repair but salvageable.
I have 1 bosch A/C compressor.
Currently located on Long Island.
Please text me your questions. Make me an offer on any or all of it. I would like to sell each engine/Transmission together.
I have some general idea as to what they are worth, so please no low ball offers. Feel free to PM me with your questions.
