Brad is as crazy as you'd have to be to do this kind of work! My fully refurbished stock unit is coming back to be this week looking and functioning like it's 1989.

He sent pics of the work in progress and a finished video of everything working perfectly. I had my original tape deck rebuilt instead of installing the bluetooth player. Whatever you want to do, Brad will work with you to get it done to perfection. If you are serious about this stuff you've come to the right place.

I'll post pics of everything installed soon.

Dude. Wow. I know you’re gonna love it ;-)
Haven’t given up on arm twisting you for the bluetooth upgrade though ...
You’re one of the 10% tape deck die hards and I’m happy to serve.

      But the Bluetooth upgrade... nice.

Wasnt there a video on the installation process? I need to see that before deciding who is going to install it....

also, website says $220, under $200 here. is there a r3v discount?

edit: Found the installation video on his site

$220 is current pricing Simon.. the $200 price was a limited time intro price @jaysterling had end of last year for the latest version of his board

Glad you found the install vid. He did one for the 5907 (new board) and 5908 (earlier version). Both are on YouTube - just search for “Cantaloupe 5908” (or 5907)

            Wish List

I'd love to see a V3 board that somehow converts the 5908's CD changer plug to allow running of a more easily available CD changer. Either the Pioneer ones, or, more likely easy, the next generation Alpine ones.

            Also....

I bet there is a market to remove the amplifier board and replace it with a good quality preamp board so that people could run a really nice quality and modern 4 amp (or more) amplifier from line-outs.

            We can dream, right?

            Thanks for making this available.

Question Jay, when using these old radio's, are you doing anything about the super scratchy volume control? Sometimes its so bad the speakers do not even work!
