    M20

    Hello fellow hardcores,

I'm in desperate need of a healthy, running m20 for my ix touring.
I've heard also, that I may be able to put a 2.8 in but I imagine those are even harder to come by. If anyone can help a guy out, I'd be very grateful. Even with info and tips on what is and isn't possible.

    Thx all

    Welcome and good luck!

You might want to edit your title to specify "ix". The RWD and AWD engine blocks are different, not a bolt in affair.

I thought it was just the oil pans that were different?

Just off the top of my head. The oil pan is different, ix has no hole for dip stick, oil pump rotates opposite directions, wiring harness has the yaw sensor circuit, ECU is unique as well (ABS is integrated)

That makes sense. Damn that will make it harder to track down.

IIRC IX engine does have a dig stick, it’s farther back (to the right of the throttle body)

Correct, the iX M20 has an oil dip stick, but it's on the driver's side.

RWD is also on the driver side, but the dipstick tube actually goes into the block on them, and the oil pan on ix.

I have several iX engines in running condition in ME.
