The biggest issue with this kit isn't so much the springs as the shocks at altered strut housing length and dropped nearly to the floor.
I have in the works/plans for shortened struts from GC when/if these blow out since I'm not really that low at this point.Leave a comment:

haha. if you put them all the way down, how much clearance do you think you would have?
thats quite a bit of drop if you ask meLeave a comment:

Yup. I'll probably have to remove the rear perch and pads to make it sit right. I would not drive it with it wound all the way down on these springs but this way i'm already sitting pretty for some GC springs if i decide to track it on occasion.Leave a comment:

So i started the install on the fronts today. There were a couple ways to do it but i decided to do it the most drastic and permanent way. First thing i did was remove the lower spring perch from the factory strut tube. You do not need to do this but i knew i would never put normal springs on this car again so it did not matter. The easiest way to remove it would be to put the entire assembly in a lathe and cut it off. I did not have access to one so i just used a plasma cutter and a angle grinder. A normal cut off wheel would work but takes forever. Next step was to modify the coilover perch. You could again put it in a lathe and bore out the center but that was not an option for me so i just put it in a chop saw and ground down the sharp corners. I placed it on the factory welds and made two passes with the welder. This essentially allows me to run any shock and provided the potential of an addition 1" drop in the front. Again you can get the same effect by either leaving on the perch or just running the spring only.
