From what they are saying...Perches are only cut if you want easier adjustment. It will make no difference in how low the coils will go.

sounds like good news. I was gonna get short shocks but maybe Ill only have to buy two for the rears. A buddy with a XB was using shocks with inline airbags built in for another .5 to 1inch drop might look into that in conjunction with JOMS for the rear.

Still I didn't want to get into modifying anything. I just wanted to plug and play.

You can, but adjustment will be a bigger pain if you decide to raise up or lower.

It's not impossible, just a bit more tricky.

My impression with driving the car is I like 'em. A bit stiffer than I'd want in a more "comfortable" DD, but the S50 is finished and I'm glad it's as still as it is. The front, with just putting them in was/is far to low for me to daily, so it'll be coming up a bit here.

The rears on the other hand, I'm actually curious if they go much lower. I'll get another inch of drop, but the early high fender arches are hard to push the tire into it.

Pictures *will* come as soon as I can find my damn camera. I'm not even joking, my boy (14 months now) hid it from me. Fucking thing's ridiculously hidden.

Yes, you'll want to cut the top of the strut housing/spring perch off so you can actually adjust the ride height.
hmmm....I wasn't planning on disrupting the physical body of the car just so I can put coil overs in. I am not going to adjust the ride height much. I just want it to sit about one inch between the front tire and fender. Rear approx factory height.

could you explain what is involved with cutting the spring perch?

Let you know a bit later tonight, honestly. I haven't played with the lowering much. Right off the bat it's lower than stock by around 1/2"-3/4". But I haven't really spun 'em down to see exactly how low they get.

Also, I have an 87 vert. I don't like the airplane look ride it's giving me. I saw a threat on MAX showing the fronts installed and am satisfied with the visual lowering of the car. it's about 3/4-1.0 inch above fender with a 15" wheel.

Is there any modification needed to do a straight swap?

    thank you. ernie
Still going on let me know if you want to get to the point where you want to purchase.
