Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately the batteries that came with the remote are not the best in the world and some of them are weak. It does not take much juice to make the LED light up compared to sending the RF signal. Fortunately it uses a very common battery that can be replaced for cheap. I sold 100 of the alarms (mostly ebay sales) and only 1 has been a dud. About 5 people commented on the remote not working after a week or two which was remedied with a new battery. Another possible issue is the taps uses for the lock trigger. If you use a splice that is a hair too big then it works intermittent.

I had TONS of problems with mine.

for the first week it worked great.

then it would go off randomly for 3-5 beeps/cycles and stop

then it would go off randomly and the key would not turn it off so i had to drive home from work with it going off.

then the key works whenever it wants to. i see the led coming on when button is pressed but nothing is happening.

the e46 key fob is incredibly poor design, virtually useless, i removed the key and was using a standard key with this as a fob only.

then after i stopped using it, doors were unlocked. i went into work and came out at lunch and it had locked my keys into my car. this was the final straw

problem after problem. i simply pulled it out and threw it away.

I have since switched to a tried and trued unit from DEI. Avital 5303L, Keyless entry with two way paging/alarm/remote start for $120. sucks i wasted the $60 on a trial but you live and learn

No siren. Also the alarm systems are sold out. No plans to carry them in the future for obvious reasons.

i will be on vacation for 10 days but when i get back will try to get a detailed description of how i have mine wired (been to busy lately to get to it )

Find a "real" locksmith somewhere outside of your county perhaps? I had a guy cut mine for FREE since I brought my own blank. No reason for a true locksmith who knows what he's doing to destroy a blank and make it unusable. That guy didn't know what he was doing. E30 keys are the same typical keys cars have been using since the beginning.
