    Yea your right! A tad bit cheaper on your website!!!

    Worked out why my system was not locking..... Turned my trunk lock to horizontal and now the keyless entry works like a charm.. open, close, open close!!! With lights that light up to!!! WOOT WOOT

    Is it normal to be like this? If the trunk key latch is turned vertically the keyless entry ONLY opens, sometimes.

    Thanks for keeping E30 Modern!!!!

    ++K

    My FOB stopped working so I went down to Radio shack and got some new batteries...all is well now. If your FOB stops working, try new batteries!

    Yes.

    The problem is the e30 did not come with a factory push button electric trunk. So you would need to install a solenoid and mounting brackets first. You could scavenge one from another a car at the yards. That should give you some mounting ideas as well.

    Yes, a lot of things, a lot of work, and a lot of time.

    Looking for E30 91 318 install instructions

    Just got mine today installed it.. un-locking mechanism works. Think I need to reconnect the locking mechanism wires. Still clueless on how to get the flashing light feature working. Is it possible since I did the install in the trunk?

    Anyone??

    I installed my unit in the trunk inbetween the trunk lock actuator and the battery, since it is alot easier to work around and I knew I wasn't going to be using the ignition cutout/lights/siren etc. Here is the wiring "pin-out"

    Car ---------------Function----Keyless Entry Module

    Brown ----- -------Ground ---- Black+Yellow+Black/Yellow (Splice all of these together)
    Green/Black - ------Lock - -----White
    Green/Purple - -----Unlock - ----White/Black
    Battery + Terminal - Power ----- Red

    Door/Trunk Switch - Door Signal - Blue

    The top wiring is pretty self explanitory, what you need to do for the door signal is splice the grounding wire for one of the door switches (They are daisy chained for dome light) and the trunk light switch to signal the controller that the trunk or the door is open to disable the auto lock. If you do not open the door/trunk the car will lock in ~20 seconds.
