not sure, it has the slight DTM tips on it, they are big. It came off a NASA car, so it may be a race. It's really loud.

I'd like to thank those of you who've chipped in so far to help me cover the extra costs I incurred running this group buy. I've seen payments from about 1/4 of the people on the list. The rest I have yet to hear from.

I installed these headers on my eta last week and the fit was flawless. Mated them with a new IE catback and they sound great but I do get drone in 5th because I ditched the cat. Thanks Steve for facilitating this. PayPal is coming your way (sorry for the delay).

Yeah even with a cat and resonator I get some loud drone down low, like if I'm cruising around town at 2000rpm, at highway speed it's ok though.
          Paypal came in. Thanks man!

Got them last night. Fitment was a breeze as expected. Thanks again for putting this together.

So the guys that installed these, what did you need to buy in order to do so?

I plan on installing next week and I am buying a new gasket for the cylinder head and new nuts, also a new O2 sensor since mine is dead. Anything else?

I am wondering if I need a clamp between the header and midpipe, or it just slips on like the motorcycle exhausts.
Also I am going to need to flare the one midpipe thats missing the flange?

My car is my daily at the moment, so I rather be prepared. Thanks much.

I would recommend having the following on hand:

                    2- Exhaust Manifold Gaskets
                    12- Exhaust Manifold Studs
                    12- Exhaust Manifold Nuts
                    2- 2" Universal Exhaust Clamps
                    1- 18111245960 Gasket Ring
                    1- 18111723541 Gasket Ring
                    1- 18111712064 Flange
4- M8X55 Bolt with Matching Nuts (11621711954 for fancy copper BMW nut)

You may be able to reuse some of the above parts but old exhausts don't always come apart in good shape (never in the Northeast) so if yours is a DD you should just plan to have them. You can see how it goes together here:

No, as you can see in the diagram above one of the outputs of the cat has a captive flange while the other is removable. The mid pipes are designed to mimic the outputs of the cat. Everything should go together the same way as if you had a cat.

Thanks much guys, I just ordered everything from Tischer.

What do you think of this exhaust clamp?

For the header to mid-pipe, good old fashioned 2" exhaust clamps worked best for me. I tried band clamps, but there was some leakage after a good flogging.

I also haven't had good luck with band clamps. They look all fancy but I don't think they hold up to the pressure at that end of the exhaust. I would go with this:

You don't need anything fancy just regular 2" clamps from your local parts store. Should be about $3 each.

I was trying to avoid those clamps. They make it a bitch to separate the pipes later on ... I might just have it welded.

                                Thanks much guys! J
