OK, I'll keep checking back here for updates, but I am very interested in this! I know Rogue was at one point working on something similar, but I believe that dead -ended...

Much like this attempt, it's been almost a year and a half, just not going to happen.

Thanks guys. :D The only part I can take credit for is lucking out on my choice of cat-back.

It's already happened multiple times. It's just not being mass produced yet.

I think that was ultimately my point. Sure I can get a ton of different shops to weld up an exhaust for me, but by my count there are at least a handful of shops that have claimed that they were going to make an "off-the-shelf" swap exhaust and it has never happened.

We've gone through 2 changes so far.

Basically the only aftermarket performance cats worth using are the magnaflow V8 ceramic spun cats. We've blown apart 2 of the dual in dual out magnaflow cats so far and just replaced them with another muffler instead.

Working on the 3rd revision now which will probably come in 2 versions. One with 2 mufflers and one with 2 mufflers and a spun catalytic converter (for those who must have one for emissions.)

We've also started working with a new fabricator who is helping us design a set of swap specific headers because we are tired of the inconsistencies with aftermarket chinese headers.

If they are still priced around $1000 I'm very interested in this.

And idea on price difference between the cat and non-cat versions? I ask because I have a brand new one on my car that I would try to have welded in.

I would expect that they would be somewhere around that price. In your case you would probably just want to buy the exhaust with 2 mufflers and weld your cat in where you want it.

+2 on down pipes to fit the obd2 manifolds.

Contrary to alot of posts on here the m50 e36 stuff doesnt fit worth a damn unless you count shimming the engine sky high, pounding dents in pipes and cutting/welding them so they dont hang lower than everything else.

that said, a complete setup is cool too :D
