Werd, the M20 oil pan is bad enough. Without question, one of the worst designed parts on the car.

I'll be interested depending on final outcome. I'm sure you wont have a problem with getting 5 people you seem to have more than you expected :D

im very interested...i think maybe that is the support bars that go across were of a thicker metal than the numerous bars, it would be a better design.

Do they make one for the cabrio?

Do they make one for the cabrio? I can't find a part number for my '92 325ic using ETK.

If you get it as close to the OEM ones as possible, I'll be the first to actually pay you. It would also be nice to see the plates you fabricate up to be stronger than the OEM ones with thicker sheetmetal or something of that sort. I still wonder why they made this part but never sold it. Did it ever come stock on an E30 anywhere!?

Yes I am shooting for stronger metal, From what I have been able to find there were none made for cabrios, but I am making the first one for my 90 cabrio so it will fit. The pictures I & everyone has posted is from an artical of a person that forced an 87 up non M to fit on his cabrio.

The welder was supposed to call my wife so she could go pick the prototype up but in keeping with Mexican business pratices he didn't (took me 8 months and I ended up driving 600 miles (round trip) to Puebla to get a 10 foot dish so I could get DTV.) My 6 foot bed Tundra comes in handy!

There seems to be a need to do the contractor's 2 week deal on all things here. I know a guy that waited 2 years to get an intercom installed!

I will keep you guys posted and post before install & after install pics when I can.

For fifty bucks, count me in.

But just to let you know, Dave returned the nonM pre-87 and got a correctly fitting one.

Anyway, let me know, get me one that fits a post-91 cabrio.

                          Thanks.
