        Hi all.

Happy Easter to everyone. Just a reminder that the intro price on full kits and separate two-piece rotors is ending this Monday April 6th at midnight. There will be no extension.
The custom 11" rotors are done and I shall have pictures in a couple of days. Aluminum hats are on the last machining step, then sent out for anodizing.

Some people have elected to leave a $100.00usd ($104usd inc. the dreaded Paypal fee) deposit by Paypal, while sending a check the next week. That works for me too.

Last day for the intro special.

$104 (including the 4% fee) deposits are accepted at massivebrakes@gmail.com until midnight, with balance to be mailed/Paypaled before April 12th. Shipping starting in mid-April.

            Full kit with BP20 pads - $899.00usd ($30 optional disc slotting) + $50.00 shipping (regular $999.00usd + shipping)
            Two-piece discs only - $399.00usd ($30 optional disc slotting) + $30.00 shipping (regular $449.00usd + shipping)

NB - The two-piece rotor will also work perfectly for those who are doing the RX7 caliper swap. Unlike the VW discs, the aluminum hats have a setscrew in the right location and don't require a spacer to make up for the thinner VW hat. Not to mention higher duty rotors with directional vanes.

So now that you have the rotor, all it would take is a hat and bracket for a rear kit to come to fruition? I'm not sure there would even be a market for that but it seems like an interesting thought.

PS: Do you want a paypal deposit until my check gets there? I sent it out last week but I have no idea what the postal service will be able to accomplish with Easter shutting things down...

Now that I have a rear 280x21mm disc, I may go for a rear 280mmx21mm kit with two-piece rotor and Dynapro caliper. The only thing that bugs me is that to make it economically acceptable, I can't fit the $250 steel handbrake rings, so, customers must accept to have aluminum as a friction surface. Therefore, the handbrake can only be used as a PARKING brake, and won't do much if you loose your hydraulic on the highway... But hey, isn't that what most manufacturers supply? ;-)

Fiddle, send no Paypal. We already made agreements.

Actually I just made a quick draft and the rear kit would be RACE-ONLY and require to remove the handbrake shoes. The reason is that the handbrake shoes work around a 160mm drum, while the inner diameter of the two-piece disc is 142mm, smaller than the drums. Therefore the handbrake mechanism must be removed... And let'S not forget that the rotor's minimum diameter is 280mm if a Dynapro is used.

One advantage of using front and rear Dynapros (1.38" + 1.00") is that it will shift a good chunk of brake bias to the back. No too much though and nothing that proper pad selection can't solve.

                    Per exemple, the usual ratio - using same size rotors - (1.63" fr + 1.12" rr) is 2.12:1, while (1.38"fr + 1.00" rr) is 1.9:1 - a 10% difference toward the rear.

For those of use with larger master cylinders would it be worth using larger pistons or will 1.38"/1.00" work? I'd love to get more rear bias, my IX has tons of rear bias (I've heard the IX master is different) and while it's scary when you don't expect it, I much prefer it to the nose-happy S50 car.

Some things? Sure. Email me when you have time.

To everyone else, the intro offer is over. Now back to our "regular programming". Rotors will be here tomorrow, and hats in a week. Everything seems to go as scheduled. Very excited by this new product.

I will proceed today and tomorrow with the invoicing and balance due. You will receive by email the invoice.

                          Thanks

I called the CNC shop to see where we stood with deadlines. The batch of hats is currently on the last step. They are engraving the "Massive" logo. Hats are then sent to anodizing on Friday. I shall start shipping by Wednesday or Thursday. I have received rotor samples yesterday and will add some pictures to this post this afternoon.
