billy/koni shocks required to use these coilovers? In other words can I run this with a straight up stock suspension on a cabrio model.Leave a comment:

They work great on verts. I'm currently tuning a m20b31 turbo vert with my setup. It feels awesome. Not bone chilling when you hit pot holes and not a boat when you take a sharp turn. Its a nice sport setup.Leave a comment:

If your car still has the original shocks you'll need to replace them with premium units like bilstein sports or Koni SaLeave a comment:

Hey einstein57, I just bought a 325es and it s my first bmw ever, so GE's are coilovers and what else would i need to buy if nothing how much is the whole set?Leave a comment:

I have one set left but one of the rear adjuster is red. Got left out of the anodizing box. I can give a $10 discount on the mix matched set. New sets should arrove in about a month.Last edited by einstein57; 07-10-2013, 04:20 PM.Leave a comment:

Almost out of adjuster. I have about 3 kits left and then there will be an 8 week wait for some more to come in.Leave a comment:

If you can find a cheap used set of ix Billies then its worth having them re-valved. Otherwise get Konis.Leave a comment:

^+1 to that. As JGood posted before:
I checked out my new iX HD's that I bought for my iX vs the old billy sports on my iS, and I could feel the sport was stiffer, even after a few years of beatings.
No idea why they're so much softer, may have to do with the caster of iX struts?
As for pics, the closest thing I have is:

Touring is H&R Race/15mm drop hats with slightly oversized 17's, iS is on euroweaves/RZ378 with 205/50's. They seemed about the same height in front before the 17's went on.Last edited by Northern; 07-01-2013, 10:41 AM.Leave a comment:

FYI, iX Billy's are way too soft for these spring rates. iX Koni SA's are just about perfect, though.cant wait to check it out... this is the stuff I'm going to be using on my new car. but i will cut down front housings and use ix billys... maybe little heavier rates would be good for my plans also.... cant wait to get this garage built.
any pics of the set up troy?Leave a comment:

I was driving on a few winding roads this past weekend, and it really made me appreciate this setup...
I have GE Coils all the way down in front and .9" from all the way down in back, Billy sports with cut bumpstops, cheap dirty camber plates, and offset CABs.
I used to have the same setup with H&R Race, and I found I would bottom out up front on practically any bump that was anything more than small. The front spring rate on those was definitely not picked with a 6-cyl car in mind.
With the 450lb GE springs up front, the car rides and feels a ton better. I don't even bottom out on the larger bumps I hit, and the whole car feels so much more planted. I also don't need to space my upper spring perch down from the camber plate for clearance like I did for the stock perch, so the front sits lower, but has more shock travel.
For the same price, this is a way better option than any of the oem-diameter spring options out there, even if you're not into cutting your housings.
Sorry for the rant, but I'm really impressed with how they turned out.
