what would you recommend the billy sports be re-valved at for these?
I have em on all 4 corners, but I'm pretty sure the front two are blown, so while I'm getting em fixed figured I'd get em re-valved.1991 318is --- currently not road worthy

I called to check up and they said they will be shipping out by the end of the month.
And for those of you thinking about sectioning your strut tubes this is how i do it. I had 25 sets of weld on stainless steel collars made for those who are interested in going the same route.
The strut looks different then anyone i've ever cut up before. Although i could be mistaken cause i've been dealing with m3s lately.

After cutting off the dust shield i ground down the factory weld and cut the tube 2" below that. I then cut it again at the bottom of where the factory weld ended. I use a pipe cutter to get a perfect cut.


Then i used the tool i made to perfectly weld the two pieces together straight as an arrow.



Finally busted out the ix inserts i had re-valved a year ago. I used stock i insert sleeves and shortened them 2 inches. That way i get maximum travel and no spacers. With a 6" spring it sits perfectly on the adjuster with out play when its at the maximum height. The car tucks 235/45/17s tires at the highest setting. Shortened i sleeve on the left. Regular ix sleeve on the right.

Great work Nigel. Interesting idea on shortening the e30 sport stand tube to use with the ix insert to avoid running a spacer. I might do this as i am in the same boat. My ix inserts are currently down at bilstein.Comment

How much does an ix insert revalve/rebuild run now?
