chester is right, that was the deal with my car. If your car has 38.5" strut towers, buy a 39.5" bar and MAKE it fit.

Group Buy: Sparco Strut Bars

I bought sparco strut bar almost two years ago, and I love it, to make 39.5" fit, raise the car on jack stands, lower the strut towel mounts little bit, mount one side enough to keep in place with both bolts, get on other side, use big screw driver, slip it under the bar between two strut mount bolts, push the bar towards enough to slip bolt/stud on bar holes.
Pretty easy, and pretty big difference in handling, from my experience!

It's not the same, when its coming from your bank account, it has nothing at all to do with your check card.
When it's coming from a credit or debit card [which a check card would be considered] PayPal charges a fee I am pretty sure. Hence the $3 higher price. I wouldn't know, I stopped using PayPal, money orders are easy enough for me.
