Gotcha. Just throwing ideas out there for others and such...can't let this opportunity for custom machined parts go to waste!
Please feel free to email me with parts ideas, pics, etc:

I want to see everything that you guys want. I can make anything, but some of the bigger parts (shifter surround) have to be made out of a pretty big plate, so material costs go up pretty fast even thought the part is no big deal. I am down for anything.
And not that I am complaining, Rob, but the thread wasn't only about shifters. That was just the first thing to get made. I am advertising myself, not just one part.

I will be selling the knobs for $30 + shipping. I will not mark up the shipping either. I will start a new thread when they are ready to ship that has my payment info and such in it to keep the thread length down.

Also! NOTE! the new shifter, if put onto a standard e30 setup, will shorten the shifter by almost 1.5" from stock. Also, you could always take a hacksaw to the top of the shaft and get it even shorter FOR FREE!.... as long as you plan to never go back to stock...

Can we get a shot of the setscrew location?

Also, is there anyway you could perhaps make something like a bezel that would cover up the set screw?

"See, we're adding a little something to this month's sales contest. As you all know, first prize is a Cadillac Eldorado. Anyone wanna see second prize? Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired."

The set screw hole isn't there yet- but I will post photos as soon as available. I will do more work on the shifter tonight.
And no, there will be no cover for the set screw. However, the screw will be pretty small, so I would just point it away from you and ignore it. I'll have pics soon.

I just want to thank you for all you're doing. I do have a question though. Will this knob stay on the shifter w/o the set screw, do all of them have them? Not a determining factor for me buying one, I was just curious. Thanks a lot.

Just my opinion, but I actually prefer a set screw, especially with this type knob. that way there's nothing to wear out like the damn factory clips

                      I agree.

I may be interested in a black one.

Yes, the set screw is all that is holding the knob on. There is no good way to make a clip-type arrangement in a metal knob. Also, the knob sits so much lower than stock that I would need to put the clip about halfway up in the hole.

I just took a few pics, and I will have them posted in a little while, if I can find my usb cord... Thanks for all the interest. As soon as the pics are up I will start a new thead for purchases!

How different will the aluminum no finish and the clear anodized be? I take it thats like a clear coat, giving it a little more shine and durability?

Did you get a chance to take a look at the oil filter lid?
