But yes the XS in that test was highets, followed by the expensive Bridgestone stuff, and then you get to the more affordable dunlops. Funny thing is in previous testing by tirerack the dunlops beat out the re-01r.

point is it's not a huge deal what tires you get when your at least picking form the list above ;)

I'll be sticking with the Dunlops

      Edit: Eddy beat me lol

I was thinking, there are too many variables to really pick a tire that is so close in time.... The driver is a variable, the car, track condition, autox or track? heat, humidity.... blah blah blah.... like eddy said, if you pick from those 6 you'll probably be happy. I have my personal reasons for not picking some, and thats that lol.... Toyo is not high on my list, bridgestone is way overpriced.... Just think i'll stick with the dunlops

Eddy, do you have any more specific tracking info, or info in general? I guess I'm curious now too, local BMW CCA chapter is signing up people for the fall driving school and I don't wanna commit until I know for sure I can be ready.

I know as much as you know (ship it's on). There is nothing really to know about an ocean freight shipment. What usually happens is a week before they are set to arrive, I get a call from my customs broker to arrange for delivery. Once that date is worked out, I can then update the thread with much firmer delivery date (since I'm not the one physically unloading it from the ship, there is still a variable that could possibly delay things, so it's still not 100% firm but at least 90%).

These wheels should be boxed and on their way via UPS between the 2nd and 4th of September (leaving myself buffer room for the unexpected again).

Everyone will receive tracking info right away.

If I see that things are coming in sooner then expected (happened before), then I'll update the thread immediately. I just can't give any new info until I get that call from the customs broker.

Understood. I should be able to order tires without worry then? I know they'll get here eventually, but If not soon enough, I'll wait to put tires on them till next year

Well, that's 2-3 weeks away approx. so it's up to you if driving the car around after that is worth your while. I would think it is.

Just scored a Bavarian Solutions CNC'ed head for my S/C'ed S50. The head + the T-trim, means I need these wheels asap. LOL I hope I can finagle a 245 under her... I realy cannot wait to get these wheels!

you can do it if your willing to mess with your fenders. bolting on with no modification not so much. Although you sounds like the modifying type ;P

I'm still debating 235s and 215s.... I'm leanin closer to 215s just to get some rubber under the car and to be able to make a bmw school the first weekend in october... I don't wanna attempt 325s and run into an issue that will keep me from running the school... I also just bought another expensive ass toy so im debating holding off altogether till spring

Mystical seems to think a 245 40 17 will fit with a fender roll. I will have to do some test fits etc. I am not concerned with mild rubbing as much as I am going sideways in third... LOL
