when i test fit the wheel originally onto the e30 i just held a 5 lug wheel in place since their center bore is large and the car doesn't have lugs. Why don't you see if there is a local e36 guy with a 17x8" wheel and 235/40's that would let you borrow a wheel for test fitting. you'd also just need a spacer or something spacer like while you held it there to compensate for the spacer. that should give you some sort of an idea.

      just a thought

          Here is his pm response,

"245/40/17 is possible in the back with a heavy fender roll and the perfect offset wheels."

We will have to wait and see.

          Thanks!

I know I will have to roll the fenders a decent amount and honestly i can deal with a little rub now and then. I hope I can make it work.

Why not just get the 5 lug version of these wheels?

Because I fell in love with the look of the wheels in this picture. Now I have to figure out which 5 lug set up to run in order to make the style 5's fit with a BBK...

Yeah, I am convinced to go 5 lug and buy these wheels. I am actually looking at a set of staggered wheels right now. I am even considering forgoing the entire BBK if need be (which sucks)

I hope I can figure a way to make everything work...

There is no benefit going to a 5 lug set-up, except fo the ligher wallet, except maybe for the possibility of using a 13" front BBK, which is obviously not needed. Keep your money, get the 4 bolt ARC-8 wheels. Install your 300mm BBK. It's a no brainer.

Sure, you can install front e36M3 and rear 318ti suspension, but the brakes will be mismatched. Stock e36 325/318 is not better than stock e30. e30 M3 swap is $1800 in parts. Just not worth it.
Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.
